Sophie & Robert’s Wedding // Botley’s Mansion // Chertsey
2017 , March 31, 2017
Sophie & Bob’s are now newly weds! Congratulations to you both.
Their wedding day was simply amazing, such a beautiful day. Sophie, their daughter Olivia & Sophie’s bridal party got ready at their home in Camberley, whilst bob was with his groomsmen at Brooklands Hotel in Chertsey. I had the pleasure of spending the morning with all the ladies whilst my husband, Arron, went with the lads!
Sophie’s house was a hive of activity but all the ladies were very calm. The ladies were lucky to have two super ladies on hair & makeup, Nina Lewis for their hair and Leanne Honnor for makeup, and when everyone was half way ready we travelled to Botley’s Mansion so the ladies could get changed ready for the ceremony.
The ceremony was held at 1 pm in the Green Room and was filled to the maximum with their family & friends.
Sophie had her three sisters, Nicola, Grace & Lily and Bob’s sister Amy as her bridesmaids, their daughter Olivia was their flower girl (adorable!). Bob had two best men, Jamie & Lee, with Steve, Dan S, Dan G and Chris as his Ushers. Sophie brother James made a heartwarming speech to the newlyweds, with not a dry eye in the house! Then it was the best men’s turn to speak & after much hilarity over the microphone not working (totally unplanned!) they were awesome. A special mention to Sophie’s parents Janet & Peter, who were wonderful throughout the whole day.
Botley’s Mansion is a grand, exclusive use wedding venue situated in the Surrey countryside. This Palladian country house wedding venue is one of four that are owned by Bijou, so if you are looking for the ultimate country house wedding venue in which to host your wedding, then Botley’s Mansion, with its style, setting, and service, is hard to beat!
I cannot simply explain just how lovely Botley’s Mansion is, the grounds, the rooms and of course, the fantastic staff who were some of the best I have had the pleasure of working with.
The reception was in The Atrium looked stunning, the decor, the white carpet, and the beautiful glass ceiling, simply gorgeous! The gorgeous cake was made by Cakes by Nina Camberley, the wonderful Paper Songbirds entertained with their beautiful voices throughout the day.
The guests were treated to live music by the awesome & explosive band The Cobbles! I have had the absolute pleasure of working alongside this band at many weddings, and they certainly know how to get a dance floor full & groovin! Everybody was commenting on how good they are & I highly recommend this band for any event or function!
The whole day went so well, everyone had such a great time. So I asked the newlyweds a few questions:
How did you meet? How did it all begin?:
“We first met 10 years ago working next door to each other, Bob worked for an estate agent and I worked in Recruitment. I remember the day clearly actually, I was walking towards the office one snowy morning and Bob was outside, I was just about to walk into the office when I felt something hit me on the leg….. yes it was a snowball he decided to throw at me and that certainly broke the ice and the rest they say is history.”
Tell me a little about your engagement story?:
“In April 2015 I was about 4 months pregnant with my daughter Olivia, we decided to go on Holiday to Dubai before two became three, we called it our little baby moon. One night while we were there Bob booked dinner at the Burj Al Arab, I was so excited as it was in the restaurant with the floor to ceiling fish tanks and was hoping our table would be right next to them.
We were being shown to our table and we were directed away from it all and I genuinely started to feel a bit gutted. Well, I certainly wasn’t when we were finally at our table….. we had our own private room with our own floor to ceiling tank with so many beautiful fishes.
So after our lovely meal we were chatting away about the baby and all of a sudden I see someone in the tank holding a sign reading ‘Sophie Darling will you marry me’ I turned around to Bob with my shocked face and he was on one knee with my gorgeous ring. It was so romantic and so very thoughtful.”
Which wedding gown did you choose? And where did you get it?:
“My wedding dress is a Stella York Design and I got it from Tilly Mint Weddings in Fleet”
What jewellery, shoes and other bits did you wear? And from where?:
“My necklace was from Swarovski and my wedding shoes were heeled peep toe’s from Rainbow”
What did your partner wear? And from where?:
“Bob wore a 3 piece navy suit with a waistcoat from Jack Bunny’s Tailors in London”
Who did your hair & makeup?:

“Flowers – The Fine Flower Company. Cake – Cakes by Nina”
How many guests attended your day/and evening?:
“Day Guests – 101 Evening – Approx 30”
What was your wedding song/playlist?:
“Lone Star – Amazed”
Your honeymoon destination?:
“The gorgeous Maldives”
Your most memorable moment from your wedding day?:
