Elése & Scott’s Wedding // Old Thorns Golf & Country Estate // Liphook
Wedding , May 13, 2017
Elése & Scott were married at Old Thorns Golf & Country Club Wedding Venue in Liphook, Hampshire.
I met up with Elése & her bridesmaids in the bridal suite at the gorgeous Old Thorns Golf & Country Club wedding venue, which feels modern but actually dates back to 17th Century!
Set in the picturesque surroundings of the Hampshire countryside, Old Thorns Golf & Country Club is the ideal location for your marriage or civil partnership with stunning views over the South Downs National Park ~ especially from the 5th tee!
Whilst I was with Elése on the morning of her wedding day, which was a hive of activity with hair stylists and make up artists working away, my second shooter, my hubby Arron was with Scott at their home address.
Scott had his groomsmen with him, and more importantly their lovely dog, Peanut. Who played a big part in their wedding day (see the pictures…).
Here are those wonderful people who supported Elése & Scott to make their big day at Old Thorns Golf & Country Club simply incredible…
Wedding Dress: Justine Alexander, from Amaryllis in Alton
Hair Stylist: Natty B’s Hair Stylist from Borden
Makeup Artist: Eloise from ‘Suzanne Dusek’s‘ make-up team
Venue Stylist: The Little Details Company
Flowers: Mrs. Bouquet’s Wedding & Events
I asked the newlyweds a few questions about their day, this is their own story in their own words…
How did you meet? How did it all begin?:
“Scott & I went to the same gym, I worked at the leisure centre – Scott had noticed me in the gym. There was a leisure centre night out & a mutual friend invited Scott. We all went to Petersfield for dinner & drinks, I was slightly ill after Scott bought me a drink so I sent him a Facebook message the next day apologising. He then asked me out for dinner & that was it”
Tell me a little about your engagement story?:
“We went on holiday to Rhodes. Scott was adamant about climbing to the top of this mountain next to our hotel, I wasn’t so sure as it was so hot.
One morning he made the decision we were going up there. He didn’t eat any breakfast which I found odd but he just said it was a bit warm.
We walked all the way to the top of the mountain & were covered in orange sand and sweat by the time we got to the top.
At the top, it was quite rocky but there was a flat bit near the edge looking out to the sea.
Scott wanted me to stand there but I did not as was too close so he had to lunge over the rocks to propose & I respond asking if he was serious… I then said yes.
He had also managed to sweat a perfectly shaped heart into his t-shirt”
Which wedding gown did you choose? And where did you get it?:
“I had a Justine Alexander wedding dress which was made of mostly lace. After the first shop went into liquidation and took all our money I got the dress from Amaryllis in Alton”
What jewellery, shoes and other bits did you wear? And from where?:
“I wore a necklace Scott bought me & then gave me a day before the wedding ~ Pandora
I wore heart diamond earrings ~ Debenhams
I wore my Nan’s ring
I wore the same bracelet as the bridesmaids ~ Debenhams
I wore lace heels”
What did your partner wear? And from where?:
“Scott wore a navy blue three-piece suit from Next & brown Timberland shoes
He also had a watch that I had bought him which is engraved with our engagement date” (sooo sweet!~AJP)
Who did your hair & makeup?:
Who did your flowers & cake? And who styled your venue?:
How many guests attended your day/and evening?:
“100 in the day & about 120 in the evening”
What was your wedding song/playlist?:
“First dance- James Arthur- Say You Won’t Let Go”
Your honeymoon destination?:
“Dominican Republic –Sensatori Resort, Punta Cana”
Your most memorable moment of your wedding day?:
“Scott- When I saw you walk through the door & slowly walked down the aisle. Elése- when we said I do & we’re announced as husband and wife!”
Do you have a ‘top tip’ for other couples?:
“Make sure you remember it is about the two of you & not other people’s opinions. When planning, take time out to do non-wedding stuff together”
